Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has launched a major crackdown on defaulters in the renewable energy sector. After discovering that many private players had obtained large land parcels under previous green energy policies but failed to execute any meaningful development, Naidu ordered a comprehensive audit.
He emphasized that Andhra Pradesh cannot afford to be a "land bank for speculative players." Developers who miss deadlines or violate MoUs will face penalties, land reclamation, or blacklisting. This move is seen as a corrective step to restore public trust and revive stalled investments—especially vital as the state tries to emerge as a green energy leader.
